W.TEC Presents: ”Women Build Tech Too” @ SMW Lagos 2020

The Women’s Technology Empowerment Centre (W.TEC) is set to hold an event at the upcoming  2020 Social Media Week Lagos program. This will be W.TEC’s 7th straight year at SMW Lagos.

The event will take place at the SMW Lagos Campus, Landmark Centre, Water Corporation Road, Victoria Island Annex, Lagos, Nigeria.

The Social Media Week is a global week-long program, which takes place in several cities across the world simultaneously and which showcases the brightest and best minds discussing, exploring, debating and learning about the impact of social media on our lives. The theme for the program this year is: HUMAN. X, i.e SMW Lagos 2020 will be featuring conversations about taking a human-first and experience-driven approach to innovation.

  5. Oreoluwa Lesi– Founder / Executive Director, TEC (Moderator)

 

The W.TEC event, “Women Build Technology Too!” will thoughtfully examine the thesis that more Nigerian female participation in computing technology – especially in the age of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science – will lead to better quality and more inclusively-designed technologies. We will examine how the diversity provided by different female perspectives, experiences and skill-sets will only improve innovation and wider spread adoption of technology solutions.
