Meet The New Faces At W.TEC 2023 - Yemisi Efunuga

Programme Coordinator 2

My first day at the W.TEC, I was welcomed by a vibrant team of like-minded individuals who were committed to breaking barriers and creating opportunities for girls in the world of technology.

Yemisi coordinates the W.TEC Academy, an after-school technology club tailored for girls in secondary school, a technology club program designed for girls aged 10-17. Her mission is to ignite their passion for technology and encourage them to explore tech careers.

My passion for bridging the gender gap in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics is the driving force behind my commitment to this impactful role.

From designing engaging workshops to organizing mentorship programs, I revel in creating opportunities that foster curiosity and confidence in the young minds we serve.
Collaborating with talented educators, industry professionals, and enthusiastic volunteers, I orchestrate events that go beyond traditional learning, emphasizing teamwork, problem-solving, and creativity. The sense of community that blossoms within our programs is a testament to the transformative power of education.
Every milestone achieved, every girl who discovers her potential in STEM, reinforces my belief in the significance of our mission. It’s not just a job; it’s a journey of empowerment, breaking barriers, and shaping a brighter, more inclusive future. I love being a part of this extraordinary endeavor, where every line of code written, and every experiment conducted is a step towards a world where every girl confidently embraces her place in the realm of science and technology.
