W.TEC Partners NECA in Ilorin

W.TEC’s Kwara State team attended and participated in a 1-day training organized by the NECA Network of Entrepreneurial Women (NNEW) Ilorin Chapter on Friday 26th May, 2023.

The training which was tagged ICT Productivity Tools for the Enterpreneurial Woman had a total of 17 NNEW members in attendance. Our presentation featured  a brief introduction about W.TEC and the SHE CAN WITH ICT programme. Participants were intimated about the extreme importance of incorporating ICT in their daily business lives while touching on a few IT tools that are important for an entrepreneur.

In addition an overview of market research and the importance of carrying out market research was explained. The session got super interactive as participants were wowed and at the same time curious at learning about who ideal customers are for their businesses. Questions were asked about their use of google forms and just one participant had knowledge about google forms and online forms generally. She shared what she does with the forms and how helpful it has been in her business life with the other members.

The practical session started with Gladys Jumbo our Programme Assistant in Kwara  conducted them step by step through how to create, use and maximize Google forms. Because it was a Friday, with parents wanting to pick up their wards early from school and Muslims amongst the participants wanting to join the Juma’ah prayer, we couldn’t take the other part of the training which was Use of Productivity tools (Whatsapp Business).

NNEW members who participated were very happy to learn this new knowledge, expressed deep regret that the time wasn’t enough and training uncompleted.

They appealed to us to have a part 2 of which we promised to deliver their request to the management as relate back to them what the response is.

The assistant Chairperson Mrs Ajayi reprimanded the members who came late and made the training delayed while also pleading that we be reinvited to complete the training.

In the end, a brief survey was administered at the conclusion of the training to find out how the members felt about it and if they had truly learned anything new. Everyone in attendance acknowledged that they had learned something new and all responded that they would recommend the training to friends and others.
