GIVING TUESDAY (MAKE HER GREAT) CAMPAIGN
INTRODUCTION
Once more, we are delighted to invite you to join us, in making a difference in the lives of many more Nigerian women and girls through our end-of-year giving campaign tagged the “Make Her Great” campaign.
Our annual “Make Her Great campaign” which takes-off from #GivingTuesday (November 28) aims to build a sustainable support system that will allow us maintain a long-term pipeline for our W.TEC beneficiaries.
About GivingTuesday
Was created in 2012 as a simple idea: a day that encourages people to do good. Over the past ten years, this idea has grown into a global movement that
inspires hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate
generosity. The movement also strives to build a world in which the catalytic power of generosity is at the heart of the society we build together, unlocking dignity, opportunity, and equity around the globe.
IMPACT OF PRIOR CAMPAIGN
Last year, your kind donations towards our Giving Tuesday campaign, was significant to enabling us give huge scholarships to 10 girls in public secondary schools to attend our 2023 summer STEM camp for girls tagged She Creates Camp. One of the girls performed so exceptionally, she emerging the best overall participant of the camp.
MATCHING OF DONATIONS BY RECEICIVNG PLATFORM – GLOBALGIVING
Donation platforms collaborate with corporate partners or sponsors who pledge to match contributions made by individual donors. This partnership allows for a doubling of impact: for every dollar donated by individuals, the sponsor matches it. These matches often have predefined limits or timelines. Leveraging this strategy amplifies donors’ contributions, incentivizes giving, and significantly bolsters the financial support provided to nonprofits and their causes.
This means that your donations to W.TEC on Giving Tuesday will be matched to a limit set by GlobalGiving our receiving platform.
PLANS FOR PROCEEDS OF DONATIONS IN 2024
Starting from, November 28th we look forward to your kind donations to support our STEM programmes for girls:
- W.TEC Academy– Our after-school STEM and computer programme for girls to be held in 3 states across Nigeria..
- MentorHER Programme: Mentoring for ladies and girls in STEM.
- Linking participants with opportunities in STEM
- Database and follow-up on participants
These and other programmes will be made possible with your kind donations which will gift many more girls who usually don’t have the opportunity to learn skills that will make a big difference in their lives towards their socio-economic growth and development of their communities.
