Percentage Calculator
Six percentage calculators in one page. Find any percentage value, calculate what percent one number is of another, find the whole from a part, calculate percentage change, add or subtract a percentage, and convert marks to percentage with automatic WAEC grade.
Six Calculators in One
Each percentage question has a slightly different structure. Rather than forcing you to figure out which formula applies, each calculator is labelled for the exact question you are asking:
- What is X% of Y? — the most common calculation. Find 7.5% VAT on ₦50,000, or 15% commission on a sale.
- X is what percent of Y? — find the percentage when you know both values. Your score of 68 out of 85 is what percentage?
- Percentage change — find how much something increased or decreased. Price went from ₦2,500 to ₦3,200 — what was the percentage increase?
- X is Y% of what? — find the whole when you know the part and the percentage. If 35 students represent 25% of a class, how many students are there?
- Add or subtract a percentage — apply a percentage increase or decrease to a value. Add 7.5% VAT to ₦10,000, or subtract 20% discount from a price.
- Marks / Score percentage — enter marks obtained and total marks to get the percentage. Shows the corresponding WAEC grade automatically.
WAEC Grade Scale
The marks calculator uses the WAEC (West African Examinations Council) grade classification: A1 (90–100%), B2 (80–89%), B3 (70–79%), C4 (60–69%), C5 (50–59%), C6 (45–49%), D7 (40–44%), E8 (30–39%), F9 (below 30%). This grading is used across Nigeria, Ghana, Sierra Leone and other West African countries for WAEC and NECO examinations.
