W.TEC Set to Host 14th Edition of She Creates Camp

The Women’s Technology Empowerment Centre (W.TEC) is now taking applications for the 2022 edition of her She Creates Camp for girls (ages 13 to 17).
The is designed to encourage young girls to get interested in computer science, information technology, and related fields at a young age.
The award-winning female STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Maths) camp is set to run from August 7–20, 2022, and this year’s camp will be residential once again after major COVID restrictions have been lifted.
Themed “ECO INNOVATORS,” the 2-week camp will focus on “Renewable Energy,” as a method of addressing present and future pressing technological requirements. By this, the camp will feature exciting hands-on tech classes, mentorship sessions, skill-acquisition classes, excursions, and lots of extra-curricular fun activities. The following is a rundown of the camp’s courses and details:
- Renewable Energy
- Software Innovation
- Computer Programming
- Creative Arts
- Team Building
- Extra-curricular Activities
Date: August 7th – 20th
Participants: Girls 13 – 17yrs
Location: Mafoluku, Ikeja – Lagos.
Fee: N150,000 per participant.
For Enrolments, W.TEC is open to euthanistic participants for STEAM from around Nigeria.
Evaluations of previous She Creates Camps show enhanced leadership skills; creativity; problem-solving and communication abilities in our alumnae as a result of participating in the camp. Camp participants will also get to forge lifelong bonds with girls who share the same enthusiasm for technology.
W.TEC is open to partnerships with organisations, corporate bodies and individuals who would like to provide in-kind or cash support or sponsor girls to participate in the camp.
