Make Her Space By W.TEC Commences

The Women’s Technology Empowerment Centre hosted her pioneer Make Her Space webinar to train young girls and women on Web design using Mobirise with no fee attached to it. The webinar which was held on Friday, 15th of May 2020, started with an introduction to web design where the 20 girls were exposed to various web design platforms.
The girls were given the step by step procedures to design a web page using block and other features while they were followed up by their trainer and WTEC Curriculum Developer, Mr Lesley Tarabina. Mr Lesley gave the participants tips on how to download the required application and engage them on the practical aspect of the webinar.
After the webinar, participants send their web design project to the WhatsApp group created for them to provide an opportunity for follow up.
MakeHer Space is a hands – on, tech training project for ladies is a partnership initiative with Google, designed to motivate select – ladies to creating technology and engineering-based solutions that will solve problems in their communities and also provide information about career options and exposes them to women working successfully in STEAM.
